Desire or a Wish?

Desire or a Wish?

What is it you really want? Really? Are you sure it’s something you desire, or is it only a wish? Because there is a difference. If you desire it, you will invest your time, talent, treasure, prayers and spiritual creativity to pursue it. If it’s only a wish, you will wistfully hope it will happen. And maybe it will manifest, and maybe it won’t. Chances are that it will not.

A red-hot burning desire is essential for the acquisition of a worthy goal. A goal is a specific, personal, pre-determined desire. Achieving your desired goals require faith, planning and action. The original planner? God. He planned and chose us before creation. Ephesians 3:4 “Even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world….” He also prepared the Kingdom of God for us. Matthew 25:34 “…. inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. Goal setting and planning is scriptural and Father God is our first example.

Your plans for the manifestation of your desire should be written. Habakkuk 2:2 And the Lord answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain upon tablets (paper), so he may run (make fast progress) who reads it.

Jacob and his Uncle Laban agreed that Laban’s herds would be of solid color. Jacob’s would be striped, speckled, and spotted. Jacob cut and placed stripped rods of popular and almond in front of his water troughs. Genesis 30:37-39 states that when the cattle and goats came to drink water in front of the striped rods, they conceived striped, speckled and spotted offspring. He not only experienced rapid multiplication of his flocks, but the colors were as he desired. This was a miracle, one that Jacob planned for.

It is a fact that those who have a burning desire, write it down, have a picture of it, and review it often are astronomically more likely to see their desires manifested.

Checklist: (1) Personal, specific goals. (2) A burning desire. (3) Plainly written. (4) Set the picture of it in front of you daily. (5) Measure progress and adjust your approach as needed.

May He grant you your heart’s desire and fulfill all your plans! Psalms20:3
